Last week I got some project from one of my trusted freelance editor. The project was important and I was supposed to complete it in a week time. I was quite happy with the offer as it was really interesting and was related to one of my favorite subject on sociology.

Being working on my Windows 7-based Hp computer I realized that my Office 2003 is not up to the mark and I should get it replaced with the new Office 2010. Things were never easy for me when it comes to install and activate any new software application on my system. I drained my knowledge to clad on the application software but went nowhere. I searched on the Google to get some relevant solution for the Office 2010 installation issue.

After searching a few pages I got a webpage, where it was mentioned to get your answer. I submitted my question “How to Install Office 2010 in Windows 7”, and with no delay I came to a step-by-step solution, but my Adam and Eve was not with the site. I wanted to know the authenticity of the website and then I came across a toll-free number which was mentioned on the same page. I dialed that number with my mobile to get some Tech support for MS Office 2010 and in a few seconds my call was picked by a technician. He took some details and then asked me to insert the Microsoft Office 2010 installation disk or USB drive into the DVD drive/ USB port respectively. I used the DVD drive I had.

Afterwards, the technician wanted to have the remote access of my HP computer, to which I agreed. Next, what I could see was next to dream. The mouse pointer was moving on its own; the Office set-up file was downloaded and run to install the program and later on it was activated using the product activation key, which I offered him over the chat window. Indeed it was an ‘and some experience. I thanked the guy and paid the bucks. It was a nominal price, which I hadn’t imagined.

Here I am mentioning the steps which I followed to install Office 2010 in Windows 7:

Uninstalling previous version

a. Click the “Start” orb, type “uninstall a program” (without quotes) and select “Uninstall a program” from the results windows.

b. Click any 32-bit Microsoft Office product in the list of installed programs. Click “Uninstall” to remove the product. In case you are not sure about 32-bit or 64-bit, presume it is 32-bit.

Installing MS Office 2010

a. Load the CD/DVD drive with Microsoft Office 2010 installation disk. Close the “Setup” window, if it displays.

b. Navigate to the “Start” orb and select “Computer” to launch Windows Explorer.

c. Click your CD/DVD drive letter on the left-hand pane, and double-click the “x64” folder on the disc. Double-click Setup.exe” in that folder to launch the 64-bit installer.

d. Enter the prescribed Product Key when asked for, and click “Continue.” The product key is located on your installation disk or the Office 2010 paperwork.

e. Check the box next to “I accept the terms of this agreement” and click “Continue.”

f. Click “Install Now” and the 64-bit version of Microsoft Office 2010 will automatically install.

g. Click “Close” to exit the installer as soon as the process is finished.

Next moment I restarted my hp computer. I went through my Word and Excel file. All were looking great under the new version of Office. The new features of Office 2010 were extremely flawless and simple to use. I wouldn’t have finished the project in time if the problem had remained with the installation.

First of all, I do not really hate my office 2007. Truthfully, I still love it. I can’t forget the innovative experience which I had. I still care for it, but still a jealous streak, like a hot blue flame of anger flares whenever I watch someone with new Office Home 2010 on his machine. It burns me, and I think you can understand my dilemma. Isn’t it!

Eventually, I can’t hold myself from the new legendary Office Home 2010 owing to its classic user interface. Integrated Windows Live Writer, E-mail Essentials and Video in Microsoft PowerPoint along with unmatched Photo editing tools, Spelling checker, and Digital signatures are some of the compassionate features, which are enough to woo everyone. Really! It’s a masterpiece from Microsoft.

I am a big risk taker and can’t let things slip this way. I called up my bro and asked him to do something to install and Activate Office Home 2010 on my computer. He suggested me on “How to Activate Office Home 2010.” I did the same which helped me to accomplish the task in the best possible way. I’m mentioning the steps, which you may find helpful.

Insert the Office Home Edition installation disk into your CD/ROM drive.

Navigate to “My Computer” or simply “Computer” for Vista and Windows 7 users. Right click on the CD/DVD-RM drive icon. Select “Autoplay.”

Enter the 25 character Microsoft Office product key in the “Product Key” box. This number is located on the back of your installation CD case. Hit “Continue.”

Hit the button “I accept” after you have finished reading the “Microsoft Software License Terms.” Hit “Continue.”

Hit the “Customize” button and select “Installation options.” Select all the programs that you wish to install by putting a check mark beside the respective programs. If youhave enough hard drive space, it may be a good idea to install all the programs since you paid for all of them. Hit “Install Now.”

Follow “On-screen” prompts to complete the installation.

Ultimately the Office Home 2010 was activated and I took a sigh of relief.
